About Smart Laundry Connect
Smart Laundry Connect ("the Platform", "we", "us", "our") is a technology company incorporated in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We operate an online marketplace that connects customers who need laundry services with independently operated laundry businesses ("Stores") and independent delivery partners ("Riders") across Nigeria.
Smart Laundry Connect is a technology intermediary only. We do not own, operate, employ, or control any laundry store or delivery rider listed on the platform. We provide the technology, payment processing, and logistics coordination that enables transactions between users.
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Smart Laundry Connect website, mobile site, or any related services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
Your acceptance is indicated by any of the following actions:
- Creating a customer, store, or rider account
- Placing a laundry order on the platform
- Accepting a delivery job as a rider
- Registering a laundry business on the platform
- Continuing to use the platform after being notified of updated terms
If you are accepting these terms on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these terms.
Eligibility
To use Smart Laundry Connect you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a resident of or operate a business within the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Provide accurate, truthful, and complete registration information
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Nigerian law
- Not have been previously banned or suspended from the platform
For Store Owners, you must additionally operate a legitimate laundry or dry cleaning business and hold any applicable local business permits required in your state or local government area.
For Riders, you must hold valid identification, own or have legal right to use a road-worthy vehicle, and comply with all applicable road traffic laws in your state.
User Accounts
You must create an account to use most features of the platform. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your information current. One person may not hold multiple active accounts of the same type.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to verify your identity, contact details, and business credentials at any time. Failure to cooperate with verification requests may result in account suspension.
We may suspend or permanently close any account that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, in violation of these terms, or in a manner harmful to other users or the platform.
Customer Terms
When you place a laundry order on Smart Laundry Connect, you are entering into a service contract directly with the Store you have selected. Smart Laundry Connect facilitates this transaction but is not a party to the service contract between you and the Store.
Payment is required in full at the time of booking via the Paystack payment gateway. Your order is only confirmed upon successful payment. Prices displayed are estimates where weight-based — the final charge will be based on the actual weight or item count assessed by the Store at collection.
You are responsible for ensuring someone is available at the specified pickup address during the selected time slot. If a rider arrives and cannot collect, a rescheduling fee may apply. Delivery will be made to the address you provided — you accept responsibility for ensuring the address is accurate and accessible.
By submitting garments for cleaning, you accept that:
- You have disclosed any special care requirements or pre-existing damage
- Smart Laundry Connect is not liable for damage to garments that results from undisclosed care requirements, pre-existing wear, or the inherent nature of the fabric
- The Store's liability for damaged garments is limited to the value of the item as assessed at the time of booking, subject to a maximum of ₦50,000 per order
- Claims for damaged items must be raised within 48 hours of delivery
You may cancel an order without charge before a rider has been assigned. Once a rider has been dispatched, a cancellation fee of ₦500 applies to cover the rider's travel. Refunds for cancelled orders are processed within 3–7 business days to your original payment method. Refunds for disputed orders are subject to our dispute resolution process (Section 12).
You may leave a review for a Store after a delivered order. Reviews must be honest, factual, and based on your genuine experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines, contain false information, or are submitted fraudulently.
Store Owner Terms
Laundry businesses may apply to list on Smart Laundry Connect. Approval is at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to refuse or revoke approval at any time without obligation to provide a reason. All stores must maintain accurate service listings, pricing, and operating hours.
By listing on the platform, you agree to:
- Provide services to the standard described in your listing
- Handle all garments with professional care
- Complete orders within the turnaround time stated on your profile
- Respond to customer messages within 24 hours
- Notify customers promptly if delays are unavoidable
- Maintain appropriate hygiene and safety standards in your premises
Smart Laundry Connect charges a commission on each completed order. The current standard commission rate is 10% of the order value. Custom commission rates may be agreed in writing for high-volume stores. The platform reserves the right to adjust commission rates with 30 days' written notice.
Net earnings (order value minus commission) are paid to your registered bank account every Friday via Paystack bank transfer for all orders completed and settled in that week. Earnings are only released once the customer's payment has cleared. Smart Laundry Connect is not liable for payout delays caused by Paystack, banking system failures, or incorrect bank details provided by the Store.
You are an independent business operating on the platform. You are responsible for your own tax obligations, staff, equipment, and compliance with all applicable Nigerian laws including consumer protection and employment law. Smart Laundry Connect does not employ you or your staff.
Stores are prohibited from:
- Accepting payment directly from customers outside the platform to avoid commission
- Listing false services or misleading pricing
- Soliciting customers to move off-platform
- Operating under multiple store accounts
- Manipulating their own reviews
Rider Terms
Riders on Smart Laundry Connect are independent contractors, not employees of Smart Laundry Connect. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, agency, partnership, or franchise. You are free to work for other platforms and to set your own hours.
By registering as a rider you agree to:
- Only accept jobs when you are fit and able to perform them safely
- Treat all garments with care during transit — they are the customer's personal property
- Communicate promptly with customers and stores
- Update order status accurately at each step of the delivery
- Maintain your vehicle in a roadworthy and clean condition
- Comply with all Nigerian road traffic laws and regulations
- Hold your own vehicle insurance covering commercial use where required
Riders receive a percentage of the delivery fee for each completed job. The current rider payout rate is 70% of the delivery fee per order. Earnings are paid every Friday to your registered bank account via Paystack. A minimum balance of ₦500 must be accumulated before a payout is triggered.
You are personally liable for any loss, theft, or damage to garments that occurs while in your possession during transit. In cases of proven rider negligence, the cost of replacement or compensation to the customer may be deducted from your pending earnings after a fair investigation.
Smart Laundry Connect does not provide insurance coverage for riders. You are solely responsible for your own health, safety, and vehicle insurance. We strongly recommend obtaining appropriate personal accident and third-party liability cover before performing deliveries.

All prices are in Nigerian Naira (NGN / ₦). Payments are processed exclusively through Paystack. Smart Laundry Connect does not store your card details — payment data is handled by Paystack in accordance with their PCI-DSS compliance standards.
In the event of a successful chargeback or payment reversal by a customer's bank, Smart Laundry Connect reserves the right to withhold the equivalent amount from the Store's next payout pending investigation.
Prohibited Conduct
All users of the platform are prohibited from:
- Using the platform for any unlawful purpose under Nigerian law
- Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users, staff, or riders
- Attempting to circumvent the platform's payment system
- Scraping, copying, or reproducing any part of the platform without permission
- Introducing malware, viruses, or any malicious code to the platform
- Creating fake accounts or impersonating any person or business
- Using the platform to launder money or facilitate financial crime
- Submitting counterfeit goods or illegal items for cleaning or delivery
- Leaving fake reviews or ratings for any store or rider
Violations may result in immediate account termination, reporting to relevant Nigerian authorities, and civil legal action where applicable.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Smart Laundry Connect platform — including but not limited to the name "Smart Laundry Connect", the logo, website design, software, text, images, and data — is the property of Smart Laundry Connect Ltd. and is protected under Nigerian and international copyright and trademark law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any platform content without our prior written consent.
By uploading photos, text, or other content to the platform (such as store profile images or reviews), you grant Smart Laundry Connect a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating the platform.
Liability & Disclaimers
We aim to maintain 99% platform uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for losses arising from platform downtime, technical errors, or third-party service failures including Paystack, Termii, or internet service providers.
Smart Laundry Connect does not guarantee the quality of services provided by Stores or the conduct of Riders. We facilitate the connection but are not responsible for the service outcome. Complaints about service quality should be directed to our dispute resolution process (Section 12).
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, Smart Laundry Connect's total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of the platform shall not exceed the total amount paid by that user to the platform in the 3 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Smart Laundry Connect, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the platform.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint about an order — whether regarding quality, damage, missing items, or delivery — you must raise it via the platform's dispute feature within 48 hours of delivery. Our support team will investigate and aim to resolve all disputes within 5 business days.
If a dispute is not resolved through the platform, either party may escalate to the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) of Nigeria or seek resolution through the Lagos State Multi-Door Courthouse or equivalent state body.
For commercial disputes exceeding ₦500,000 involving Store Owners or Riders, both parties agree to submit to binding arbitration under the Lagos Court of Arbitration Rules before commencing any court action.
Smart Laundry Connect's decisions on refunds and dispute outcomes are final at the platform level, though you retain your statutory rights under Nigerian consumer protection law.
Termination
Either party may terminate their relationship with the platform at any time:
- Users may close their account by contacting [email protected]. Outstanding orders must be completed before a Store or Rider account can be closed.
- Smart Laundry Connect may suspend or permanently terminate any account for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or for any reason with 14 days' written notice (or immediately in cases of serious misconduct).
Upon termination, any outstanding earnings owed to a Store or Rider will be paid within the next scheduled payout cycle, provided no fraud or policy violations are under investigation. Smart Laundry Connect reserves the right to withhold earnings pending the outcome of any fraud investigation.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The courts of Lagos State shall have primary jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these terms, except where arbitration applies (Section 12.3).
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under Nigerian law, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Send an in-app notification to all registered users
- Send an email to all registered email addresses for significant changes
Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to updated terms, you must stop using the platform and close your account.
